First International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition Launched in Al Ain

Yesterday, the first edition of the Al Ain International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition kicked off, with the wide participation of local exhibitors representing 14 diverse sectors. The exhibition, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler's Representative in the Al Ain Region, runs until November 30th. It brings together outdoor enthusiasts and companies from across the United Arab Emirates in a celebration that reflects the depth of Emirati traditions in hunting, falconry, equestrianism, and heritage crafts, offering a comprehensive experience that blends authenticity with innovation. The exhibition, organized by ADNEC in cooperation with the Emirates Falconers' Club, extends the great success of the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition 2025, highlighting the authenticity of Emirati culture and its rich heritage. Visitors enjoyed exploring a wide array of artworks, handicrafts, and heritage artifacts, alongside the latest hunting, camping, and veterinary equipment in an experience that combines traditional craftsmanship with modern technology. The first day of the exhibition saw the launch of the popular cooking competition, organized by the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture & Heritage in a festive atmosphere that reflects the authenticity of Emirati cuisine. Five contestants competed to present traditional Emirati dishes, including Harees, Luqaimat, Thareed, Harees with Bab, Lugaimat, Machboos, and Mutabba. The competition ran in two daily sessions, with a specialized judging panel evaluating the dishes based on strict criteria that included taste, appearance, preparation, creativity, and cleanliness. Mrs. Shama Al Kaabi won first place and a cash prize of 3,000 dirhams, while the second-place winner received 2,000 and the third-place winner received 1,000 dirhams. The competition continues for five days with daily prizes totaling 80,000 dirhams, showcasing the living skills of Emirati chefs and their rich heritage. The day also featured competitions in the art of 'Yola', one of the most prominent Emirati folk arts that embodies the values of equestrianism and national pride. Meanwhile, exhibition visitors enjoyed a range of unique cultural experiences throughout the day. The 'Al Ilsa' tent provided an authentic Emirati hospitality atmosphere in a traditional setting, while the 'Maidan Al Taba' platform attracted public attention through interactive activities aimed at raising awareness about this traditional sport. These initiatives are part of empowering youth and cementing their role in preserving Emirati culture and promoting the values of safety and community participation. The main arena (Arena) hosted daily live performances that added a distinctive traditional touch to the event. Additionally, the Hunting Weapons, Equipment, and Marksmanship sector saw a notable presence from major manufacturers showcasing the latest licensed hunting rifles, along with ammunition and accessories dedicated to enthusiasts of the sport.
